the dreaded ex-vegan

ex vegans, barring it being absolutely physically impossible [[allergies to vegan protein sources for example, not "oh, that's gross" or "oh, that's not terribly convenient"]], piss me the fuck off. period. bottom line.

sorry. not going to sugar coat it.

anyone who SEES that it's wrong to exploit animals and SEES that pain, and then turns their back on it because it's inconvenient? Fuck. That.

that said, ex vegans and pretentious/preachy "vegetarians for ethical reasons" (and especially ex-vegans who become ethical vegetarians) piss me off too. vegetarianism is NOT ethical. dairy cows still get slaughtered, veal is a "byproduct", and egg hens get slaughtered too, not to mention what happens to baby male chicks. the suffering is still there. immensely so. and regardless of the "humane" factor, exploiting that animal for your own personal means IS CRUEL. it's not hard to learn about these things if you're actually interested in the ethics of a cruelty free diet. either you haven't done the research, which i try to share nicely per rational, logical discussion; or they just don't give a fuck.

granted, hell. vegans can be unethical too if they're not paying attention to where their so-called vegan products are coming from. especially those who don't support spay/neuter/adopt, or buy p&g products.

i'd rather starve than turn my back on my ethics, and have. being a broke college student is hard, but it SHOULD be cheaper if you're eating pantry staples and basic food components, and NOT fake meat and bullshit substitutes. sure, they're fun once and a while but there's a reason they're overpriced.

sorry. i don't think i'm better than anyone, necessarily, except for people who can't stick to ethical, lifelong decisions. those who lack the willpower or discipline to follow through with what they supposedly believe will receive no sympathy from me.

granted, this applies to ex vegans, as is the topic. i approach omnivores and curious-vegetarians-who-haven't-learned-about-it much more calmly and less harshly because i know many of them just don't know better. but that's if you honestly don't know better; feigned and chosen ignorance is the downfall of mankind.

TO BE EXPANDED ON LATER. It's late. I'm tired. Look at the punctuation fakristsakes!
